Horn has always been a traditional material for combs because it is actually very good for the hair in terms of conditioning with the natural keratin found in the horn.

- Water buffalo horns are harvested as a natural, renewable by-product after the animal dies, primarily from the agricultural industry, rather than from live, harmed animals. The horns are obtained from naturally deceased water buffalo and then processed by artisans who use various techniques, including cooking or soaking, heating, shaping, trimming, carving, and polishing, to transform the horn into usable products like eyewear, spoons, and tankards
